Dr. Mandy Chan, DC

Family Chiropractor | Team Doctor | Owner

Dr. Mandy Chan believes in living with passion, giving with love, and serving with purpose. Having been a lifelong athlete, Dr. Mandy sustained various sports injuries over the years that cultivated an insatiable curiosity about the body and its amazing ability to heal. This led her to explore chiropractic and ultimately attend Life Chiropractic College West. During her time there she trained with Kairos Training Culture and dedicated weekends to seminars in both osseous and tonal techniques.

Dr. Mandy approaches each individual as a unique mind-body-spirit system. As a facilitator of healing, she employs chiropractic adjustments and integrative breathwork to invite your body to unravel patterns of tension, allowing for increased brain-body connection and optimal life expression. Dr. Mandy is certified in the Webster Technique and has extensive training in extremities and soft tissue mobilization as well as light force techniques/systems such as Biogeometric Integration, craniosacral, and spring-loaded instrument.

Outside of the office, Dr. Mandy is an avid Ultimate Frisbee player, CrossFitter, cat-lover, and movement enthusiast. She has previously served as Team Doctor for Oakland Guerrilla, an elite Ultimate Frisbee team, and for two professional Ultimate Frisbee teams (SF Flamethrowers and Oakland Spiders) in the AUDL. She continues her involvement in the Ultimate community through coaching. Possessing a playful spirit and full of dynamic energy, Dr. Mandy is passionate about working with families, office professionals and athletes alike and enjoys holding space for others to show up as their most authentic selves.

Dr. Rachael Knopf, DC

Family Chiropractor | Animal Chiropractor

Dr. Rachael Knopf grew up in Marin County, California imbued with a desire to serve. Dr. Rachael's interest in biomechanics and the inner workings of the body was fostered in the Animal Science department of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. After years involved in the equine field and working as a horseback riding instructor and horse trainer, the "lightbulb moment" that inspired her to pursue a chiropractic education occurred when she observed a chiropractic adjustment that transformed the health and vitality of one of her horse friends.

After graduating from Life Chiropractic College West, Dr. Rachael spent 6 months living in Delhi, India, establishing and working in the new Oneness Chiropractic Clinic, a “sewa”/ service operation run in partnership through Life West and the Sant Nirankari Mission. Her time in India gave her valuable experience with people of all ages and levels of health, and strengthened her understanding of the power of chiropractic and unleashing the innate healing capacity within.

Dr. Rachael loves applying her intuitive skills to her chiropractic work, and can accommodate a wide variety of people, body types, and stages of life with a toolbox including certification in Webster Technique, tonal and light force work in the BGI model, and training in craniosacral, and deeper-force techniques when appropriate. She is eager to assist your body and nervous system into better balance to optimize your health and your body-mind-spirit integration.

When she’s not serving the Berkeley community at Ginkgo Chiropractic, Dr. Rachael enjoys adjusting animals (she’s also a certified animal chiropractor), riding and training horses, gardening and hiking in Sonoma County where she lives with her dog and her partner.

Dr. Jasmine Beard, DC

Family Chiropractor

Dr. Jasmine is a Northern California native that loves travel, exploring local food spots, and hiking with her dog, Apollo.

While studying International Cultural Studies at a private university on the North Shore of Oahu, she was able to explore and flourish her passion for serving and connecting with those of other cultures. Shortly after graduation, she interned in Suva, Fiji with a grassroots organization focused on the economic development and empowerment of women as well as education for children. During this internship, she became sure that helping people and working with women and children was something she wanted to pursue, but at the time was still unsure as to what capacity.

While working and living back home in the Sacramento area, she was a passenger in a severe rear-end collision. This led to her seeing a chiropractor for the very first time. Being able to see firsthand how chiropractic was integral to helping her body heal inspired her to begin her personal health journey and follow her passion for chiropractic.

Dr. Jasmine attended Life Chiropractic College West where she was trained in multiple chiropractic techniques including lighter force techniques such as drop table, spring-loaded instruments as well as traditional full-spine manual adjusting. She spent a year being mentored and trained by Dr. Jessica Lips, the founder of Ginkgo Chiropractic. Dr. Jasmine is also Webster Certified and is an active member of the International Pediatric Association. She is excited to serve and become a part of the Berkeley community!

Michelle Segura

Office Manager

Michelle is a first generation immigrant from Fontana, California.  As an undergrad, she studied Sociology and minored in Women’s Studies. Her research explored the negative impact of toxic masculinity on the mental health of men.

Throughout her career, Michelle has remained focused on health and wellness. She has worked as a nutritional consultant, and as a Behavioral Therapist for children on the Autism spectrum. She was an Interventionist at SFSU’s Center for Research and Education on Gender and Sexuality on a randomized control trial study focusing on HIV prevention amongst gay couples. She was also the Operations Manager at a Floatation Center in Oakland, where she found joy in sharing the magic of Float Therapy with the surrounding community. She began to get curious about Chiropractic care through word of mouth stories from clients who would book their sessions right after chiropractic adjustments as a way to integrate the work and calm their nervous systems.

Michelle is deeply passionate about natural healing modalities, and has especially benefitted from chiropractic work, herbal medicine, daily meditation and physical therapy. She believes in the mind, body, spirit connection and that they all are important aspects in healing.

Michelle will be attending Grad School for Film in the fall of 2022, where she will be centering QTBIPOC stories and bringing awareness to social issues through her art. When she is not creating, she can usually be found exploring the Bay, or reading a book at home with her many plants.
